Hello there, and welcome to the DAMP developer web site. If you don't even know what DAMP is, then you've probably come to the wrong place, and should check out the main DAMP web site at http://www.damp-mp3.co.uk/
If you do know what DAMP is, then this is the place where you'll find all the information and files you need to use the DAMP source code. Whether you want to add a feature, fix a bug, change DAMP to suit your own needs, or you're just interested in having a poke around the DAMP source code, then this is the place for you!
As you can see from the navigation bar on the left, I've split the site into several sections. Here's a brief description of each section to help you find your way around the site:
The News page is where you'll find all the latest news about the DAMP source code, such as updates and bug fixes that have been submitted.
The Download page is where you can download the DAMP source code, as well as other bits and pieces as they are submitted by other DAMP developers. The page also contains links to the other various files you need in order to get started with the DAMP source code.
The To-Do page lists all the suggestions that I receive from DAMP users, for features they'd like to see added. It'll also tell you if anyone is currently working on that feature. If there's nobody working on a feature, and you know you could add it, then you can sign-up and get working!
The Dev-Docs page contains all the documentation about the DAMP source code and its sub-modules. If you intend to work on a particular module, then that's the place to go to find out all the gory details. In this section you'll also find other documents about how to get started with the DAMP source code, some notes on coding style, and any other documents that might help DAMP developers.
The Mailing List page gives you details of how to subscribe to and unsubscribe from the DAMP Developer Mailing List. The mailing list puts you in touch with other DAMP developers, and is the best place for asking questions about the DAMP source code.
The Links page contains links which DAMP developers may find useful, along with links to any "total conversions" of DAMP which aren't on this site.
Okay, so now you know what everything does, you can get stuck in to programming the next generation of DAMP. Oh, and don't forget to have fun!
Matt Craven, DAMP Developer.
